ABB IRB 910SC robot for fast point-to-point movements
Thursday, July 7, 2016Description :
ABB announces the launch of its first robot SCARA (Selective Compliance Articulated Robot Arm) called IRB 910SC. The latest in ABB's small robot range, the IRB 910SC has a nominal load capacity of 3kg and a maximum weight of 6kg. It is available in three configurations (IRB 910SC -3 / 0.45, IRB 910SC - 3 / 0.55m, and IRB 910SC - 3 / 0.65). These three versions have a modular design, with different lengths of link arms and spokes of 450 mm, 550 mm and 650 mm respectively.

"When designing the IRB 910SC robot, we focused on speed and accuracy," said Phil Crowther, ABB's Small Robot product manager. Despite their ultra compact dimensions, our IRB 910SC robots offer the same performance and design as other small robots, including first-class motion and trajectory precision for a small footprint. ABB's SCARA family is designed for a wide variety of general applications requiring rapid, repeatable and articulated point-to-point movements such as palletizing, depalletizing, loading / unloading machines and assembly.
Our family of SCARA robots is ideal for customers requiring fast cycle times, high accuracy and reliability for their small parts assembly applications. It is also suitable for laboratory automation and drug preparation applications. "The different ranges of action (450 mm, 550 mm and 650 mm) allow customers to choose the right arm for the job," says Crowther. Each SCARA model has an IP54 protection rating for optimal protection against dust and liquids and can be mounted on a table.
